The Dorian world

Our story

The Doriani brand has two generations behind it, each one of which has made style and the finest quality its core business values. In the 1930s, the first company specialized in the production of refined, elegant belts and suspenders; it was creative enough to identify specific patents that made the products in its collections unique and more functional; one example is the belts and suspenders designed for the Navy, featuring a completely waterproof, amphibious container to hold a smoking kit. The second generation founded one of the first clothing companies specializing in the production of outerwear: coats, raincoats, and suits for men and women, distributed through 24 company-owned stores throughout northern Italy.

It was the post-war years, the company was called STORM and was among the few, if not the only clothing company, to participate in the Milan Trade Fair with its own stand, as evidenced by the numerous photographs still existing.

The first shop

The first of 24 stores was in Milan's Via Manzoni. Spread across multiple floors, it had an extremely elegant atelier atmosphere, furnished with fine antiques, antique Persian rugs, and porcelain. STORM's success was achieved thanks to a high-quality, stylish product and an innovative distribution formula: a chain of single-brand stores, now chosen worldwide by even the largest companies and fashion designers. A series of developments led to the decision to close STORM's production facility in order to maintain and restructure the retail division.
